I had the same reaction. Kind of a weird statement (mixed in with what seems to be a list of cons for Engine Yard rather than just pros for Rackspace). But I suppose the GitHub guys are tackling hardware I/O problems and performance issues the vast majority of web apps (especially any of mine) will never have to face.
